The footage of the Japanese Prime Minister meeting with Mr. Trump is currently being broadcast on TV. I don’t know what she could be thinking, but during the meeting, she shamelessly and calmly declared, “Donald is the only one who can bring prosperity and peace to the entire world”—a sentiment that I doubt anyone else in the world shares. We trust neither the Iranian government, which has strong dictatorial tendencies, nor the public statements of the Israeli government. This is because, immediately after uttering beautiful words, they rained missiles down upon the heads of countless children and women.
I believe the Japanese spirit is remarkable. The compassion for the weak and a social structure born from mutual concession are truly wonderful qualities.
However, I cannot hide my shock at hearing words that seem to condone the attack on Iran coming from a fellow woman. There are people with wicked and corrupt spirits among both men and women. But as a woman myself, it brings me deep sorrow to see someone praise those who kill innocent people and boast about it.
